AC Repair in Lehigh Acres, FL

Lehigh Acres at a glance

Lehigh Acres grew from 86,784 people in 2010 to 114,287 in 2020, one of the fastest-growing communities in Lee County. It spreads across about 61,000 acres east of Fort Myers.

What that means for your AC

Rapid growth means many newer homes with modern, tighter construction. Tight houses keep cool air in, but an oversized system can leave them clammy. If yours cools fast but feels sticky, see AC replacement for how sizing affects humidity.

Inland heat

Away from the Gulf breezes, Lehigh afternoons can feel hotter. Outdoor units in full sun benefit from shade a few feet away, as long as airflow stays clear.

From cattle ranch to subdivided lots

Lehigh Acres started in the 1950s as the Lucky Lee Ranch, bought by Chicago businessman Lee Ratner. Land sales began in 1954 with partner Gerald Gould, and the community grew to take in the old Buckingham Army Airfield, a World War II training base. The land was split into some 152,000 quarter- and half-acre lots, so homes here were built over many decades by many different builders. That means equipment and duct layouts vary widely from house to house, and it's worth having a contractor look at the whole system, including the ductwork, before replacing anything.
